The existing inert materials processing facility on the southern part of the Richborough Hall waste management site would be replaced with an L-shaped building.
It is intended that the new materials recycling facility would accept the household recyclable waste collected by the East Kent Waste Project as well as recyclable wastes generated by commercial and industrial businesses. All activities would take place within the new building and the waste separated and transferred for reuse and recycling elsewhere.
The facility is designed to accept and recover around 50000 tonnes per year of material.
